    Description

Antique French M1866 Saber Bayonet measuring 27.5" overall with a blade length of 22.75". Blade looks very good with original shine and some mixed age patina, wear, use, great looking brass handle with excellent working press-stud.  Sharp cartouches on the quillon and on the ricasso area of blade with S/N# M36155.  Scabbard shows much age patina, scattered rust with paint, with some pitting. Incorrect bayonet, this one is for a German Bayonet, but almost Identical to the French ones.  Notice the frog stud difference.  Fits well though.  See photos for further details, clarification, and condition.  Spine has the St. Etienne Arsenal with a 1871 date.
