Rare, full, unused and unstruck 1950's vintage front-strike matchbook in near mint condition from the Reno Horseshoe Club that was located a little south of the Club Primadonna at 229 North Virginia Street, across from Harrah's and the Nevada Club, in Downtown Reno, Nevada. This 20 strike matchbook was manufactured by the American Match Company in Reno, Nevada.
The Horseshoe Club opened in 1956. Next door to the Horseshoe, the Silver Spur opened in 1968 and in 1981 both were purchased by the Mason Corporation and the two casinos were merged, keeping the Horseshoe Club name. It lasted until 1995 when it closed forever. The end of an era. The building now houses a pawn shop.
