UPDATE: Firefighters stop forward spread of Garden Fire in Fallbrook

FALLBROOK, Calif. (KGTV) — Firefighters battled a fast-moving brush fire,
” which erupted around 1 p.m. Friday near the 3800 block of Lake Garden Drive in Fallbrook.
The fire, located east of Gird Road and Pala Mesa Drive, burned about 50 acres before firefighters stopped it from spreading, according to Cal Fire San Diego. As of 9:24 p.m., the brush fire was burning 48 acres with 20% containment.
An evacuation order was issued and has since been lifted at 9 p.m. for the affected areas near Monserate Winery,
. Residents in marked zones were directed to evacuate immediately to Riverview Church, located at 4980 Sweetgrass Lane.
About 40 structures were threatened at the height of the blaze, fire officials said.

Riverview Church served a pasta dinner for the evacuees at 5:30 p.m.
